Rupert Giles.
You know the times have changed when Giles is singing soft rock at a coffee house. Season four has brought so many changes to the Buffyverse that we tend to not think about how radical the changes with Giles have been. I mean, this is the guy who was once so stuffy, so proper, so much of the responsible adult figure that being 10 minutes late to a vamp stakeout was a criminal offense. Now Giles is a casual-dressing, unemployed closet musician with a girlfriend half his age. But one thing has never changed. Giles is still the anchor. He is the one who they all come to when they're in trouble- to make sense of the crazy events that happen in Sunnydale. Although Giles is not the Giles of 3 years ago, he hasn't lost his sense of duty with Buffy, & he remains her Watcher even today.
