Brother Oracle: "You are not to break the piece of the seal."
Angel: "I'm just supposed to let the demons come forth?"
Sister Oracle: "You have yet to understand, the eternal battle must end with this."
Brother Oracle: "You must bring the three pieces together. Only then can the vortex open, you are not to prevent this from happening."
Angel suddenly felt like the ground had fallen from beneath his feet.
Angel: "How can I do that? How can you ask me to do that?"
Sister Oracle: "A warrior must often do despicable acts."
Angel: "This is what you call the end of days?"
Brother Oracle: "The end of days refers to the end of the battle."
Angel: "But Buffy was supposed to live until now, for this."
Sister Oracle: "You misunderstood. She died for this, not from this."
Brother Oracle: "That slayer's mortality called for her because of this event."
Angel (sitting down, defeated, almost talking to himself): "I was wrong. I thought I could save Buffy, really I should have stayed a human & been happy with her. (yelling at the Oracles) I didn't know that The Powers were just going to lay down & let The First win like this. I fought for their cause, I should never have bothered. You know nothing of love, you know nothing of my pain. I'm never going to the place that Buffy is now. I'll never be with the only person I have ever loved in my long life again. I have sacrificed everything for The Powers, for their cause, & now they want me to lay down for Evil? "
Sister Oracle (with a mocking smile, addressing her brother): "He still does not understand, brother. (addressing Angel) You still believe that you are a faceless fighter, you are unaware of the calling that you have been given by The Powers."
Angel: "I don't care. I won't bring the seal together. I won't help you."
Brother Oracle: "We're not asking you to aid Evil, foolish being."
Angel: "But, if the pieces are brought together, the demons will come forth."
Sister Oracle: "If you are unprepared."
Brother Oracle: "You must be prepared."
Angel: "Prepared for what?"
Sister Oracle: "It must be you, you are the only one that can change the course."
Angel: "Change the course?? Why me?"
Brother Oracle: "Both sides have been watching you closely."
Sister Oracle: "Both control a part of you. So you have been ordained to stop it all. The battle between the Powers & the First ends with you."
Brother Oracle: "You have been chosen to protect the Powers most beloved creatures."
Sister Oracle: "You have been given a great responsibility. You will open the seal, & then you alone must enter."
Angel: "Enter?... Hell?"
Sister Oracle: "Yes. That is nothing you haven't face before. The Powers returned you to earth as a test. They wanted to see if you were the one & you are. You have made them very proud. & you will make them very proud."
Brother Oracle: "Once the vortex opens you must go inside. This will temporarily prevent the demons from coming forward. This will allow someone from the other side to do a reversal spell."
Sister Oracle: "It will reverse the flow."
Brother Oracle: "The demons on earth will be swallowed into Hell."
Angel: "All demons? Me as well."
Sister Oracle: "A judgment will be made. The Powers will reclaim all of their creatures. Only those without sin will be claimed."
Angel: "Meaning anything with a mix of demon blood... What about my friend Oz?"
Brother Oracle (he held out his hand): "The auguries say he will be made a pure human."
Sister Oracle: "Those without sin will be reclaimed."
Angel: "I'm not without sin."
Brother Oracle: "Those without redemption will be taken by Evil."
Angel: "Have I been redeemed?"
Sister Oracle (she held out her hand): "The auguries will not answer."
Angel: "How will this end the battle?"
Brother Oracle: "If you reverse the flow, once all of Evil's creatures are taken into Hell, the vortex will be sealed. It will shatter into a thousand pieces. The Powers will have won."
Sister Oracle: "The First cannot be destroyed. However, if you reverse & seal the vortex, none of it's creations can be released upon the world. The First itself will only be able to influence Good's creatures, it's power will be permanently weakened."
Brother Oracle: "The Powers as well cannot be destroyed. However, if you cannot stop the vortex, Evil's creatures will forever rule the world. Good's powers will be useless."
Sister Oracle: "It all ends with you, only you can stop it. Only you can enter Hell to stall the demons from coming forward. If you fail, either in entering Hell or if you should perish or be lost once inside, then the demons will enter the world & it will all be over."
Angel: "Why can only I enter?"
Brother Oracle: "Hell is a place for demons. True evil. True evil cannot exist in humans, because humans are a creation of The Powers. You, however, are an adulterated creation of The Powers. Both of the forces are strong within you."
Angel digested this, then asked: "How can I find the other two parts of the seal?"
Sister Oracle: "There is a traitor whom you trust. He will lead you to the other pieces."
Angel: "A traitor?"
Brother Oracle: "You trust too quickly. It is a weakness that your enemy does not know himself. It is human to trust, to feel. He is not human, do not misconstrue self-pity with his hate. Hate is a universal emotion. It does nothing to make him human. Do not pity him any longer."
Angel: "I understand. Who is supposed to do the reversal spell?"
Sister Oracle: "Someone with magical powers whom you trust."
Angel: "Willow."
Brother Oracle: "She will do."
Sister Oracle: "She is powerful, but not a master of her art, you will have to endure Hell for as long a time as it takes for her to generate enough power to reverse the seal's flow."
Angel: "How long?"
Brother Oracle: "From when you enter the vortex, she will have a quarter hour of earth time to reverse the seal. To you, in Hell, it will be equal to two years. The more quickly she successfully completes the spell, the more quickly you will be able to exit Hell."
Angel: "If I do exit."
Sister Oracle: "You will exit. You will be thrust out. If then the judgment is that you are of Evil, you will be thrust back into Hell forever."
Brother Oracle: "It is not as if you do not deserve that fate."
Angel: "I know that."
Sister Oracle: "You are the warrior to end the fight. Your reward will be that you will have ended the eternal battle between Good & Evil. & in that, you will also end the eternal battle within yourself. You will know the answer to your life's quest."
Brother Oracle: "The question before you now is can you accomplish what the Powers are asking of you, knowing that it could be your end as well?"
Angel: "Like you said, to burn in Hell for all eternity is nothing I don't deserve. It's nothing I haven't earned. The Powers brought me out of Hell to do this, & I will do it. I'll do my best to end their battle."
Angel expected the Oracles to thrust him out of their presence like they normally would when they were finished talking with him. Instead they walked to Angel.
Sister Oracle: "Answering destiny is a frightening experience and you have a difficult battle ahead."
Brother Oracle: "A trial of strength."
The Sister Oracle smiled & put her hand on Angel's back.
Sister Oracle: "The Powers will be proud."
With that, Angel was then thrust out of the Oracles chambers.
