Rare items are normally examined to proof their authenticity. This can be done by examinators which are named by the national societies or by other experts like specialized dealers. The examined item is signed and a certificate with a description is added. On this page you hopefully will find on the long run the signatures (either small marks or handwritten) of examinators, experts, and well-known collectors from long-time-ago to nowadays. These signatures were added on the reverse of examined stamps or on the front of covers. Nowadays they are used in addition to certificates with photographs.

I would be glad if you could send me scans of the signatures of other examinators (600dpi jpg file with 20% compression, resulting in ~10K files).
