Well, from Nodnol anyway! i'm sitting at the desk in Fiona and Marcel's
place, using Fiona's laptop to email you. In case ya didn't realise that
was what I was doing.
Sooooo, I hear the Dockers aren't doing too badly...?
Just kidding!! I just touched wood. Hehe. I don't want to bring any bad
luck on the Dockers boys, and I imagine it's quite a sensitive topic
considering the Eagles' plight....
Argh!! Don't hurt me Jubee!!
SO anyway! On a serious note...um...
Yeah, so I have had a good time in England, much better than last time.
I guess it does help if you have people to see and places to go - helps
with the mood, that is. I have applied for a new Australian passport and
have been told it'll arrive on around August 4th. I will be back here
on something like August 17th, so I will pick it up then.
I just met up with a bunch of people from Dragonmount.com, some of whom
I've known for around 4 years, and it was both surreal and awesome. They
are really great girls, and I felt right at home. We had a lot of
laughs throughout the weekend. The room some of us were staying in at
the Millenium Lodge was a bit dodgy - it was kinda crusty and smelly -
but that didn't really matter much. What mattered was the company, and
it was the best!
We met up with a Dragonmount girl who is on her honeymoon. She is sooooo
beautiful that it makes you sick! She's like a supermodel! But she is
also really nice, so you can't hate the gal. She's very down to earth
but also very classy, more so than the rest of us :)
Soooooo anyway, how are you going? How's Biw and how's Snake? Seen any
interesting movies lately? I saw Harry Potter (the third one) and
Michael Moore's Farenheight 9/11. I liked both. The latter (which I
actually saw first) was rather disturbing in parts, and I did shed a
tear now and then. He knows how to manipulate his audiences' emotions,
that's for sure! I don't think he tries to piss people off, but that is
sure what he does sometimes. I think people either hate him or adore him.
I know a few people of both persuasions. Harry Potter was a nice
surprise for me. I had heard from quite a few people that it was a bit
disappointing, but I enjoyed it. I guess it wasn't quite as magical as
the other 2 were. But then, I was never amazingly thrilled with them
either. I did enjoy them and I'd see them again, but they aren't my
favourite films ever or anything.
I better go and email some other people I've severely neglected, now
that I have ceased to neglect you! ;)
Love Trisha

Hi Bahtrisha!
Great to hear from you.....yep gotta say travelling alone has got knobs on it.....I do it.and I always wish I hadn't.......but what do ya do when none of your friends either don't want to or can't! So a girl has gotta do what a girl has gotta do.....I didn't think Dubai would be much chop.especially a girl on her own but I think it's great you got out pronto...one day is pronto! Aren't foreign places...um well.... foreign?
I taped something on Enough Rope last night for you...I just have to make sure the tape gets put away! It's an interview with Daniel Johns and it is really great.......didn't realise he has been such an angst-ridden young man...anorexia/arthritis/social phobia etc. He was really quite nervous but he was fab.....
Hope it's going good.....don't forget if you ever get lonesome book into a backpackers and you soon won't be.......
Byeeee
Love Jubee
PS yep my travels really did help with some of the ever increasing questions.........I'm not moving to NZ in the near future and I'm not moving to Sydney either.........well not yet anyway! But that's just today you understand....

Hey Jubee! I am sitting in the airport at Dubai wiling away the few
extra moments before I get on the plane. I got here pretty much today,
and am leaving already! ;) It does feel like it's been at least 3 days
of torture though ;p Well, not quite torture, but I have enjoyed very
few moments I've had here. Pssst, don't tell the locals I said that!!
The highlight was probably the little tour I did just before coming to
the airport, with the taxi driver. I asked him to show me around a bit
since I hadn't seen much of the place. He said, "How long do you have
before your flight?" in a slightly less eloquent manner (English being
his 2nd or 3rd or something language) and I said, "Umm, 3 days." Hehe.
But I have a flight in an hour or so, as I managed to get them changed.
That was the hope!!
I told mum quite a bit about Dubai in my email to her so you can check
that out. But I will say this - it's very humid, and very 'misty'. And
very alien! Whether you're in the more traditional areas where you feel
like you might get stoned to death at any moment, or on the highway
where there are shiny silver skyscrapers of various designs on either
side of the road, for quite a stretch...it's all very alien!
It was humid everywhere I went besides here in the airport and in my
hotel room. It was very nice aircon in my hotel room.
Anyway, now I am heading off to Istanbul, and I'm not sure that will be
much better than Dubai, but at least it's somewhat further away from
Iraq, right?! Hopefully that means something.
My eyeballs are really sore!! I am tired as all get out!
Singapore was a lot of fun! And comparing it to Dubai is sort of
depressing :) But I know that there will be other great moments on this
trip, most of which will probably be when I am staying with someone and
so have no worries about where I'll go next ;)
I better go Jubee, the next email should have more detail. If this email
doesn't work, you will never know, as you won't get it! Ha ha! But if I
find your "real" email address, I will resend this anyway :)
Hope that Biw is doing well...but wait, you aren't home yet are ya!? So
you wouldn't know if he's doing well. Well then, I hope you are doing
well, and that all life's questions were answered by your recent travel
:) I'm pretty sure my answers won't arrive anytime soon, except for some:
Q: Do I want to travel alone again to places where I don't know anyone?
A: No!
Q: Do I want to go back to Dubai sometime? A: No!
Q: Do I need sleep? A: Yes!
So there are SOME basic answers ;)
I remember last time I travelled extensively, my vow was that I'd never
do so in dad's company again. Well now I have some other resolutions to
add to the list. Travelling just isn't the same when you are alone!
Insane as this sounds, I almost wish dad was here *gasp*
Love, Trisha
