Hotel Barlovento (Higuerote) - twin std. aprox. USD 20 (very good hotel)
Early in the morning, Amarildo lets me know that Ivone and Zé are very ill. They were not too well yesterday, complaining about an uneasy stomach, but had feever and were very ill at night. With the help of the hotel manager, we are taken to a local clinic, where the Doctor was very nice and professional. t must be stated, how helpful the manager of the Barlovento was: without his help, it certainly would not have been as easy to get hold of a good Doctor. He prescribed medicine and at least one day's rest, and if the two were feeling better the following day, they could carry on, as long as they went easy. So, once we managed to buy all the medicine, which was not that easy - we must have visited at least 5 different pharmacies! Once back at the hotel, Amarildo and Ramesh went for a quick drive, and then just took it easy the rest of the day, while Zé and Ivone slept and were improving. By night, they were up to having dinner with the others, and the restaurant of the Barlovento made a special chicken broth with spuds for them, which they claimed was delicious. Ramesh repeated the local delicacy: seafood - this time a grilled platter, which was as delicious as the previous day!
Events:
| Ivone and Zé were were very ill, probably due to food poisoning of some sorts. A visit to a good Doctor set them on track to recovery, thanks to the help of the manager of the Barlovento. |
