Kingdom expect a graceful romance, a smiling, cheerful wedding, and marriage. Lots of Kingdom's close friends know that I even have a practical "blueprint" of my wedding, from propose to honeymoon. Many of them are so inquisitive about it. Okay, here are some secrets in it...

So I've bought an exquisite engagement ring - a couple of carats, platinum setting perhaps - and I'm ready to ask the big question. No matter how beautiful the bauble, I won't do it justice if I don't present it the right way. For instance, I can't just plop the ring down on the table at McDonald's and say, "Hey, baby, how about you and I get hitched?" Well, of course I can, but she may get up and leave - and maybe even take the ring and hit the road.

No, no... I need to think carefully about the process of proposing. Even if I don't think it's that big a deal, my fiancee-hopefully-to-be no doubt does. If I want to show my love, it's not enough to find the right diamond - I have to present it like the important, life-changing item it is. And remember: proposing to the love of my life can be fun - if I do it right.

So how do I propose? Men throughout the centuries have asked that question and have come up with creative, witty, romantic answers. From surprised to scavenger hunts, food to poems, there is a proposal that's perfect for me and my ladylove. Here are some ideas.

Ring of Fortune

Call a local fortune cookie company and have a proposal message (perhaps even the ring) put inside a special cookie.

Ring around the Roses

Hide the ring among rose petals that I spread over the bed during a romantic evening.

Book of Love

Buy a small book of poetry and make a cutout the size of the ring through all of the pages. Place and tape the ring into the empty space. Write a special poem, insert it into the first page of the book and present it to her.

Strings Attached

Take the engagement ring and tie a thread to it. Tie the other end of the thread around my finger. Tell her, "I have a present for you, but there's a string attached."

Happy as a Clam

We're on a beach vacation, put the ring in a clamshell. Take a romantic walk, put the shell down and then pretend I just fount it. Let her open it and see what's inside!

Breakfast in Bed

Make her breakfast in bed, complete with eggs, toast and fruit. Tie the ring to a grape and pretend I'm about to feed it to her.

"POP" the Question

Buy a candy ring pop. Holding it, get down on one knee to propose. When she reacts, hand the pop to her and say "This candy is sweet, but you're sweeter." Then take out the real ring and present it to her.

Dessert Heaven

Take her out to a romantic dinner. Arrange to have the restaurant place the ring in a dessert.

Peanuts and Crackerjacks

Go to a baseball game with her. Buy a box of Cracker Jacks and replace the prize with the ring. As she eats the Cracker Jacks, ask her occasionally whether she's found the prize.

Bake a Cake

Take a finished cupcake, insert the ring, and frost the top. Present it to her as a cupcake of love.

Ice Capades

Freeze the ring in an ice cube. Ask my ladylove if she's like a drink and prepare it for her with the special ring-in-a-cube.

Wrap it up

Who can resist a big present? Wrap the ring in a small box and put it in a slightly larger box. Wrap the larger box and insert it into a slightly larger box. Keep wrapping bigger boxes around it until the box is suitably impressive. Present it to her as a "anytime" gift.

Serve it on Silver

Take her out to a romantic evening out at a fancy restaurant. When it's time for dessert, arrange to have the waiter serve the ring on a beautiful silver tray.

Candy Love

Wrap the ring in gold foil and place in a candy box. Give her the box of candy as a gift and watch her eyes widen when she opens the special treat.

Roses are Best

During a special evening, present my love with three roses: Tell her one represents the past, one represents the present and the last one (with the ring tied to it) represents the future.

Hunt for Treasure

If she loves a little mystery, deliver a letter to her with a bouquet of flowers. Let the letter serve as the first clue to a treasure hunt. At the end of the hunt she'll find me, on my knees, holding the ring.

Christmas Cheer

If I'm proposing during the holidays, hang the ring from one of my Christmas tree branches (which happens to be in an empty spot) and ask her to hang an ornament there, where she's sure to notice the surprise.

Dress myself up

Present the ring to my ladylove while dressed up in an appropriate costume: a prince, for example, or a knight in shining armor!

Love Flight

Pick her up at the airport with a special sign, saying "Will You Marry Me?" and then present the ring in front of everyone at baggage claim.

Pizza Anyone?

Order a pizza - When it's delivered, go to the door to pick it up, stick the ring inside and bring it to her. After she says "Yes," celebrate over some peperoni!

Okay, the list keeps going on, but I think it's enough... The real one which I will use hasn't been decided yet! Sorry, maybe only SHE will know.
