Action and Indication:
This formula disperses the depressed Liver-Qi, removes heat, strengthens
the Spleen, and nourishes the Blood. It is used for stagnation of the
Liver-Qi, deficiency of Blood, Liver and Spleen Disharmony. The symptoms
are: distension and pain in the hypochondriac regions, dizziness, lassitude,
poor appetite, irregular menstruation. Premenstrual syndrome, hot flushes
during menopause, early period, bitter taste in mouth, tight chest. Recent
studies indicate that Liver-Qi congestion is related to the overfunction
of the sympathetic nervous system, and this formula can balance the situation.
