Developed by KMTT Associates

I. Executive Summary

            A. KMTT Associates is a group of Web design and programming experts who are

former Internet designers and Webmasters who worked at other companies,

as technical specialists. They are founding KMTT Associates to formalize the

                 consulting services they offer.

            B. The project team who will be working on the Red Grape Inn Web site includes:

                 Mark Holloway, Project Manager

                 Tissa Abeykoon, Writer

                 Kiesha Smith, Designer

                 Tony Lee, Programmer

            C.  Project Summary. This project will develop both a prototype and a final

version of a 10-page Web site  for the Red Grape Inn. It will include a

Production Guide, so that the client may maintain the site in the future.

II. Statement of Need

The Red Grape Inn is a local success, but the owner, Janice Dublin, would like to

expand her business by attracting out-of-town clients, mainly from the Silicon

            Valley.

She wants a visible Web site, for the purposes of advertizing her business, and to

let prospective clients contact her to reserve a room by phone or by a form on the

            site which collects their information.

III. Project Description

A.     Focus. The site will showcase the strengths of the Inn: its rooms, its grounds,

and the ability of the Inn to promote rest and relaxation for busy professionals.

B.     Main elements of the site will include detailed descriptions of the rooms,

information about the background of the Inn, and links to the history and

      wineries of the Napa Valley.

            C. Content. There will be 10 Web Pages in the site: a home page, 5 pages for each

of  the 5 rooms, a page for Napa Valley links, a background information pages,

a reservations page, and an events page.

D.     Target audience. The demographics of the prospective clients are: college-educated with some graduate-level degrees, minimum income level of $70,000, technicians from the Silicon Valley. There are no corporate accounts desired.

E.      Design. The design will be conservative, yet welcoming. Graphics will

encourage the customer to try out the Inn, stay for the events, and explore the

                  surrounding countryside.

F.      Limiting factors. The client does not want clients to be able to make

reservations online. She does not want to host the site on a server, but instead

wants on outside hosting service, i.e. Earthlink, to do this for her. She has a

limited budget and cannot spend more than $5000 on the site. She wants to

                  maintain the site after completion.

IV. Summary

The Red Grape Inn is a bed & breakfast establishment located in the scenic Napa

Valley. It caters to local people now, but the owner wants to attract out-of towners

from the Silicon Valley. She wants to Inn to be known as a place for rest and

relaxation, for hosting local events, and as a jumping-off point for exploration of

the wineries of the Napa Valley. The owner wants the Web site to showcase the

design elements of the Inn, and wants the site to advertize it. She has a limited

budget, wants a hosting service to host the site for her, and wants to maintain it.

She is counting on KMTT Associates to come up with an effective design that

will make the Red Grape Inn a success.
