My Grandmother

I know that everyone's grandmother is special but no one will ever have fonder recollections than I do of mine.  In all the time that I knew her, she never once raised her voice at anyone.  She was quiet, hardworking, sincere and was sweet beyond compare.

I can remember as a child her love for plants and flowers.  She tended to them every day.  She always had “Iris Flowers” planted around the outside of the house and to this day when I see those flowers, I think of her.  To love someone like her was easy and not to have her around is hard.  She probably had a hand in raising almost all of the grandchildren at one time or another.   She also taught the little children in Sunday school and baby-sat all of her life.  She had a love for little children like no other person that I have ever known.

My grandmother always went by the name of Rose, and a "Rose" she surely was.

This is my favorite picture of my grandmother.  I don't know how old she was when it was taken but I will always remember the sweetness of her face.
