Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve






Located in the Northwest of Singapore, The Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a nature reserve and an important stop-over location for migratory birds. Sungei Buloh was officially opened to the public on 6 December 1993 as a nature park. In 2002, this reserve was awarded by Wetlands International and entered into the East Asian Australasian Shorebird Site Network. In the following year, Sungei Buloh was honoured to be listed as an (The Association of South East Asia) ASEAN Heritage Park.


There are many attractions for visitors to explore such as Coastal Trail, Mangrove Broadwalk and Observation Pod. This nature reserve is ideal for leisure, family, school and coperate events. It is a good spot for tourist to learn more about Singapore's mangroves and to experience the serenity of this reserve. This nature reserve is also ideal for artists who want to capture lifetime moments on canvas.

You can also be expected to see fauna such as :

  • Giant Mudskippers (Periophthalmodon schlosseri)
  • Banded Archerfish (Toxotes jaculatrix)
  • Malayan Water Monitor Lizards (Varanus salvator)
  • Mud Lobsters (Thalassina anomala)
There are 70 species of mangroves worldwide and 27 species can be found in Sungei Buloh. You can see mangroves such as :
  • Mangrove Trumpet (Dolichandrone spathacea)
  • Barat Laut (Cassine viburnifolia)
  • Tengar Merah (Ceriops zippeliana)
  • Mangrove Apple (Sonneratia alba)

Take the North South Line (Red) to Kranji MRT Station Board SMRT Bus Number 925 at Kranji MRT Station
By Foot
Monday to Saturday 1. Drop at Kranji Reservoir Carpark B
2. Take a 15-min walk across the Road to reach Sungei Buloh Entrance
Sunday & Public Holidays 1. Alight at Main Entrance of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Self-drive / Cab:
Via Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) :
  1. Take Exit 11 from AYE to reach Clementi Avenue 6
  2. Merge onto PIE via the ramp on the right to Changi Airport
  3. Take exit 24 to merge onto BKE toward Woodlands
  4. Take Exit 8 for Turf Club Ave
  5. Take Kranji Road to New Tiew Crescent
Via Seletar Expressway (SLE) :
  1. Take Exit 11 for Turf Club Avenue towards Kranji Road
  2. Continue on Turf Club Avenue
  3. Continue onto Kranji Road
  4. Turn right to New Tiew Crescent
