Bukit Timah Nature Reserve





The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, founded in 1883, is Singapore's largest surviving primary rainforest. Supporting more than 32,000 species of birds, reptiles, plants and insects, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is home to many wildlife. The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve covers a total of 163 ha and is located along Rifle Range and Hindhede Drive. Visitors can be assured to be connected to nature and experience the authenticity of the primary forest. Visitors can follow the hiking trail to MacRitchie Reservior Park and vice versa.


Singapore tallest hill - Bukit Timah Hill is also situated in this Nature Reserve. Challenge yourself to reach the nation tallest hill. This nature reserve is ideal for tourists, families, schools and organisations to learn more about the biodiversity of rainforests and concurrently, embrace yourselves in the arms of nature.

  1. Do not enter the Nature Reserve when the weather is unfavourable
  2. Call 65427788 to check for the weather forecast and conditions
  3. Remember to hydrate yourself as you hike the forest
  4. Wear light-coloured clothes to prevent attracting mosquitoes
  5. Do not feed the monkeys as it will become reliable to humans for food and change their eating habits

  1. Take Ayer Rajah Expressway Exit 2b
  2. Keep left to reach Outram Road and Tiong Bahru Road
  3. Turn right to Zion Road
  4. Continue onto Hoot Kiam Road and Paterson Road
  5. Continue to Scotts Road and Stevens Road to reach Bukit Timah Road
  6. Move to Dunearn Road and Turn left to Jalan Jambu Ayer
  7. Continue onto Binjai Park
  8. Turn left to Jalan Gaharu
  9. Turn right to Rifle Range Road and turn right to reach Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
Via Pan Island Expressway (PIE) :
  1. Take exit 26A on the right to Dunearn Rd/Clementi Rd
  2. Keep left to Jalan Anak Bukit
  3. Turn left to Dunearn Road
  4. Keep left at Dunearn Road and Turn left to Rifle Range Road
  5. Turn right to reach Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
