The Tunku Laksamana of Kedah between 1948-1975, Tunku Kassim Ibn Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah is a prominent figure in Kedah administration after WW2 he holds key post in the Kedah administration as well as the District Officer of Kuala Muda.

The late Tunku Kassim my grandpa is active in sports supporting the football setup in Kedah as well as the first president of Silat Gayong Patani in the country. His presence leave a huge impact in Kedahan society willingly to help the poor paddy farmers by contributing all his energy in maintaining the popular Wan Mat Saman irrigation.

In his lifetime my grandpa married 12 wives but only maintained four at a time in accordance with Islam due to death and separation by divorce. His first wife Spanchendra a Thai died after a couple of years married leaving behind four children. My grandma Baayah Bt Mohd Nor a Kedahan is his eight wives gave birth to my aunty Tunku Akmal and my father Tunku Adnan was divorced due to misunderstanding. To date Tunku Kassim had more than 50 children some of them a prominent figure like my uncle Dato' Tunku Abdul Malek the first Malaysian representitive to the World Bank and formerly headed the  Malaysia treasury department.

The late Tunku Kassim had done many contributions to Kedahan a loving father he never abandon his duty towards his children. Now the legacy of Tunku Kassim continues with his children and the hundreads of grandchildren including me proud to be associated to a passionate grandpa like him.
