Malaysia In The World Cup?
photo

Another defeat this time to Syria 1-3 in the Olympic qualifier that seems to be the curse of the national football team who had not won a single trophy since the SEA Games of 1989. Yeah I still remember the 1989 triumps back then I was just 13 and inspired to became a footballer myself but all changed through the years as I watched Malaysia suffered humiliation defeats after defeats to lesser known teams.

When other sports seem to be flourishing in Malaysia like bowling, squash, lawnbowl, badminton and motosports, football in Malaysia somehow falling down the levels unlike the glorious 70s where we qualified for two Olympics.

FAM should act quickly to curb this spate of humiliation by following teams like the Korean, Japan, Iran and Saudi Arabia and improve the quality of soccer in the country. One such measure is ensuring continuous development in the junior ranks by sending more talented players such as Titus to attachments at foreign clubs. If the FAM is interested in instant success why don't we adopt the policy like our neighbours Singapore by importing foreigners namely Brazilian to represent the country. If not FAM should organize more international football tourney here to ensure that the local players got enough exposure.

Better why not the FAM host the World Cup right here in Malaysia suggestively the year 2022  by the time we're a developed country and I'm reaching my mid-40. Like wiseman say if there's a will then there's a way, if we can't go to the World Cup why not let the World Cup come to us.
