Malaysian were shocked recently when an Indian girl died while attending the National Service(NS) from injury she obtained while on training. The death cases in NS are not secluded from it's inception till today there were more than 30 death related to NS not to mention other criminal cases such as rapes, bullying, robberies and abuses.

It's unfortunate that a 17 year-old school children have to die during training at NS camps. Such incidents shouldn't be happening at NS camps where students learn to be united and friends with each others. The purpose of National Services are to usher the spirit of nationalism and patriotism amongst Malaysian youth that are lacking.

There should be a strictier scrutiny at NS camps to avoid such accidents from happening again. The government should learn from the mistakes and improved the living standard inside NS camps. Let not make our National Service a place of national disaster where crimes and sins comes with the services. Don't make the public especially school children shed fear over the NS image of a place of disaster waiting to happen, let makes NS a breeding ground for future leader rather than future criminals.
