The downside of Privatisation.

As Malaysia rushed towards it's vision of a developed country status by 2020 the government had done everything in their power to boast growth. Every year the country enjoy a 6% growth due to foreign invetments in various sectors. To achieve the acceleration growth the governement had turned into privatization as the catalyst for it's developments but at what cost?

It's understood that privitizing the economy can be a good thing but it also had it downside. Privatization robbed Malaysian of it's freedom we now need to pay higher toll rates almost 60% hike not to mention the petroleum woes and also the ever increasing water and electricity tariff. Since our new PM took office and decided to go all out at privatization the people had suffered considerably we now need to pay a fortune for basic amenities that should be far less if the government take charge.

Going privatization meant that some unscrupulous and irresponsible leaders will take advantage by leasing the project to it's croonies and in the process involved corruption. It's no surprise that the current Anti-corruption Biro or BPR chief had been accused of corruption since there had been ever increasing privatization projects nationwide but corruption cases in the country remain down.

Recently Malaysia corruption Index had rose from 39 spot to 44 in tandem with the high privatization projects implimented in the country. It's safe to say that privatization had close connection with corruption when there's money involved there going to be corruption especially in developed country where the enforcement is all time low.

It's time that the government considered ordinary Malaysian like me and you when giving out privatization projects. Our honourable Mr. PM don't just think about money and development but at the same time ignoring the plight of the people.

It's true there's uncontrollable corruption in the government and privatisation is the root of it.
