The Kedah Sultanate originated back in 450ad when Srivijaya of Palembang expanded his kingdom to Bujang Valley and later convert to Islam under the name Sultan Mahmud Shah. During his reign Kedah faces faces many threats especially from the Chola government in Siam but he prevailed and till today his heirs ruled Kedah with pride and juctice. 

Kedah prosperity mushroomed with my late great great grandpa Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin reign he's a kind-hearted and friendly Sultan well loved by the people. With an English education he ruled the kingdom with wisdom introducing irragation for the paddy planting. His brilliance together with Wan Mat Saman lead Kedah to be known as the 'Jelapang Padi' state or the rice bowl of Malaysia and eversince Kedah never again faced with famine and live happily ever after.

Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin was succeeded by my great grandfather Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah who strict but fair leadership see Kedah emerge as one of the more peaceful and harmonious state in Malaysia back in 1845. His introduction to visionary ruling led to Kedah blooming into one of the colourful state in the country with diverse culture and heritage.

Sultan Badlishah the successor to Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah my gradpa's Tunku Kassim oldest brother is a lively and exuberant ruler with him behind the throne Kedah turned into a cultural spectacles. Every year during his birthday Kedahan is treated to a splendorous traditional congregation a proud display of heritage from all across Kedah. My grandpa assisted his reign as the Tunku Laksamana of Kedah helping to mould Kedah into a vibrant state that it's today.

Finally my uncle Sultan Abdul Halim the current Sultan of Kedah formerly the 4th Agong of Malaysia. Rule with honour and dignity well loved by me and Kedahan alike since his inception back in 1970. He envision a glorious Kedah with his Oxford background bringing unparalel developments to Kedah since his 37 years of ruling. He treats us equally making Kedahan a developed state-of-mind comes 2010 in tandem with vision 2020.
