Currently they're around 750000 maids plying their trade in Malaysia legally without counting the more than 350000 other maids without a permit. Everyday we hear unsavoury news about the maids from abuses to torturing. The maids especially the Indonesian ones often get underpaid, under fed, molested, beaten and even in severe cases being raped by their Malaysian employers.  

There are secluded cases maids taking advantage of their employer trust and charity, these ungrateful maids stole their employers' belogings and even to the extent kidnapping the employers' children.

But the worse thing that Malaysian often disregard is the fact that some of the husbands spend time alone with their maids at the homes. What impression that it'll have with the neighbours? And what Islam have to say about that? It's no more than close proximity and adultery if you think about it. Wives sometimes left their husbands with the maids without thinking about the consequences and later regret their acts after the husbands make out with the maid or worse run away with the helper.

Often children are the victims of the short comings left alone with the maids you don't know what'll happened to them in the hands of irresponsible helpers who tend to abused the children. 

But the regular occurance regarding the maid's dilemma is that most children handled by the maids are often emotionally attached and regards the maids as their parents. This will cause a big problem when the maids decided to quit and left the house leaving the children without proper care. Most children suffered attachment syndroms like lost of appetite, insomnia, fatigue and sadness after losing their maids and losing their first real love.

So it's wise for Malaysia mothers abandon the idea of having a maid as it only causes major problems in the households. They should opt instead of daycare centre that offers a much more security and safety rather than having a maid.
