Coaching Blunder of the Week: Edition 5 and 6 ![]() Hello All, here come the Blunders. As we enter the Bye weeks, and injuries become more prevalent, the blunders are getting easier to pick. It seems that when you lose 25% of your starting roster it becomes harder to make all the right moves. The week five winner is a newcomer to the league. In that week, his opponent Coach Sanchez decided to start a QB that was out for injury, so apparently he decided to start a RB that was out for injury to make it a more fair matchup. Coach Van Lith started an injured Joseph Addai, while having Kenton Keith on his bench scoring 27 points. This blunder alone did not cost the Rebel Dogs the victory in the 87-53 loss, but with additional mistakes of starting John Kitna instead of Drew Brees (7 points) and Santonio Holmes instead of Dwayne Bowe (7 more points) Coach Van Lith cost himself a 94-87 victory. Nice work Pat, sounds like you should check your line-up Sunday morning. I'll arrange for Coach Bothun to give you a wake up call.
Week Six recognizes a coach whose whole season seems to have been one giant blunder, and no I'm not talking about Coach Lund and the Semper Fi. This coach was facing a team that has been embarassed week after week, had yet to find a victory, and whose entire season is dependent on the Chicago Bears having a good year (and yes, I am talking about Coach Lund and the Semper Fi.) Week Six coaching blunder of the week goes to Coach Brent Kempema and the heartbreaking Wolverines. I drove by his house Sunday night to deliver the award to Brent in person, but I couldn't bring myself to knock on the door. What, you may ask, kept me from knocking? It was the sounds of Brent's gentle weeping coming out of a slightly open window on the Kempema' residence. I couldn't knock, because I knew he was either lamenting another lost season; or he and Mrs. Kempema had just finished making love (I understand Brent is a very sensitve.) Who could interrupt either of those beautiful things? Not me. As for the rest of you, make sure that you close your windows. Because you never know when you could recieve the Coaching Blunder of the week. 2007-10-16 21:40:14 GMT
