silken wings, tiny feet.
blue multi-faceted eyes.
you flit and flutter across the summer sky,
fragile and delicate, like a glass figurine.
your rainbow colored wings catch my eye
like a single star in the sky.
your beauty grows in my mind's eye.
grows and grows and grows until i can't stand it.
i pull out my net and gently pluck you from the sky.
i take you home and release you into my garden.
to make my garden of dead roses bloom again,
and thrive and have a reason to live.
as the sun sets,
the last rays of sunlight leave your wings,
a transformation takes place.
like a butterfly from its cocoon,
you step forth into the pale moonlight,
as aphrodite stepped forth from the foam of the sea.
instantly i fall in love with an angel from the summer's breeze.
and forever you are mine to keep in my garden,
to make my life brighter and worth having at all.
my love for you is like no other love. a forever love.
i will love my butterfly angel forever.
