Documentation of the Development Process

The purpose for this site is to promote The Ink Spot tattoo shop. It was developed to give you the viewer information about making the right decision and potentially saving you from unnecessary pain. That's why doing your homework to make sure you're prepared for the occasion is so important. Remember, you're putting art on your body that's going to be with you for a long time. The home page reminds you to bring a photo ID to your appointment. The objective for this site was to include tables, forms, and multimedia elements. I was able to use a table on each of the different pages which is the links at the top that allows you to select the various pages. I incorporated a form on the contact us page of the site. For the multimedia objective, I used pictures thourghout the site, a youtube video on the home page, and a hidden audio file that autoplays on the aftercare page.

Defense of the Final Product

This ficticious tattoo shop is located in Florida, for that reason, the background is a water themed background throughout each of the pages. The font was kept the same throughout the site. The reason why is for the simple readability of the text. I wanted to have a common background and font that was used through the entire site to ensure that it was easy for the user to read. By chosing a simple black font on the lighter background, I feel that it is easy to read and doesn't cause eye strain. I wanted to keep the site simple while providing useful information for any person that visits this site. I didn't want to have super bright colors or anything that would cause a veiwer to have to squint to read.

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth

The site could always use updating. One thing that could be added is more videos. Another change that could be made is taking out the embedded hidden audio file off of the Aftercare page. As the shop grows, I would like to periodically change the images of the artist's work, and include new artists. Another thing that could be incorporated would be to add another page for a monthly featured artist. This page would provide more information about the artist and allow them to better showcase his/her work. If I had more time, I could add links to the artist's individual social media accounts. I think that would help boost the visibility for each of the artists. Also, adding more images could also help make the site better. The last thing that I would do is make sure that spacing was even throughout the site.
