1D - Scrapbook - We used the folder with metal prongs in it, to hold papers with 3 holes, we decorated the covers with crayons, markers, & stickers. This was made to hold their Tiger Cub memories with their families.

1G - Historic Living Trip - We had three meetings (not everyone could attend, so we had a few - it wasn't a chore... all those great places!)
1. Hawaii Plantation Villages - Learning about the history of a number of different immigrant groups. So many wonderful displays and houses.
2. Honolulu Academy of Art - *special display* A Korean Grandfather's House - We were able to tour the house and theey had craft projects (including making a tiger!), clothes to try on, and the boys tried their hand at calligraphy.
3. Hawaii Maritime Museum - Looking back into Hawaii's shipping history, there are a lot of hands on exhibits, tons to look at and the added advantage of the authentic tall masted ship on the property. Tons of fun.

2D - Pledge of Allegiance - We took care of this requirement at a Pack Meeting - Remember, do not reinvent the wheel. Use the resources available! ;)

2G - Fire Station - Boy, did we have a TON of luck!  Not only did our tour guide give us a FABULOUS tour, we had an ambulance stop by in between calls. The boys had a chance to see the whole building, then the ladder truck came out and a firefighter climbed almost 100 feet up... then the boys had a chance to try out a small fire hose and control the water pressure. I think they have a bunch of Junior Firefighter Volunteers!

3D - Food Pyramid - One of our GREAT den parents put together the Food Pyramid activity.  She had preprinted pyramids and a ton of newspaper/grocery ads to cut up. A poster that showed the food pyramid in color and handouts for the boys to take home!

3G - Sporting Event - Looking for a cost effective way to achieve this requirement, we attended a baseball game for the University of Hawaii Baseball team. The seats were very affordable, the boys had a GREAT time and we all had a wonderful time. We'd like to go again!

4D - Tell it Like it Isn't - We played telephone. One cub tells a phrase or a sentence to the next cub in line. At the end the cub that heard it last, tells the den what the sentence was. It is supposed to become garbled. Problem is, the fourth time we tried it, the boys got it RIGHT!  :)

4G - Television - One of our Den Dad's knew a man that worked for KITV4. We had a FANTASTIC tour, complete with time in the studio. With supervision from a number of members on the staff, the boys tried out the bluescreen effects and camera work. The teleprompter was great for reading practice! They'll never look at the news in the same way.. or rather, they'll LOOK at the news now, since "We were there!"

**ALL THREE of the Section 5 requirements were done on the same day/same outing**

5F - Weather - This was a family activity, but our Den Mother that planned this event had such a great idea we put it all together. She made up a sheet for the boys to record the weather and it had a great theme.  It read like a nightly weather report!

5D - Leaf Rubbing - The boys had picked up leaves off of the ground *not the plants* and we used a number of different colors of crayons to rub on the leaves/paper. The boys discovered the different results from rubbing the leaves in different directions.

5G - Hike *we had two*
1.Our pack hike was Aiea Heights Loop Trail- While it was a beautiful hike the 5 miles with the tops and bottoms was a little too much for the Tigers. Also, the families that brought along children younger than Tiger age had a hard time as well. Fallen trees provided challenges for those with babies and it would be a good thing to check for adequate footwear.
2. We 'hiked' around Foster Gardens. We enjoyed the many and varied plant species, all marked with plaques and some with displays. The boys enjoyed the walk in the fresh air and it's right in town!
