Aids Walk
~Walkers~

By: Ricardo Romero

6.2 miles, that was a nice long walk. It was tiresome but awesome, I mean if you don't think about it you're walking with people that you don't know that are out there for a common cause. Thanks for those who walk, you helped out reach and break the 3 million dollars mark that they had. The walkers from Key Club were the following: Priscilla, Emilie, Hoang, Andy, Lucero, Adriana, Kris, Rico, Ronald, Peter, Kitty, Katy and Steven. We also had other walkers from our school such as Kanna, Jennifer, and Dennis. Sorry if we missed anyone. All together, we raised about $300. Rico, Kris, and Steven began running so that they could try to get to the front so that they could be the first one doe with the walk but whend they were 3/4 done with the walk they realized that the front of the pack already finished, so they were dissappointed but they had a good exercise.
~Volunteers~

Aids walk was on October 17, 2000. There were many of us volunteers who chose to meet up at the school at 5 A.M. As for our walkers they didn't have to meet up until 7:30 A.M. Aids walk was held at Paramount Pictures once again. There were donutes and coffee provided for us for breakfast, a pack of lunce and a vast number of ice-cream. The Starbucks ice-cream was delectable. We all volunteered as monitors. We basically had to lead the way for the walkers and cheer them on. There were so many walkders to cheer for that the majority of us lost our voices. Some volunteers spotted Justin Timberlake with his body guards. Over 3.1 million dollars was raised, succeeding the goal of $3 million. Overall, we were fatigued but had an exciting and fun day. Thank you for all the drivers who provided rides. We couldn't have done it without you.
