Your Eyes
All was dark
and I was blind,
lost searching for a star,
one that would fill the void, so kind.
And I stumbled unto dreams
but tripped over ambitions
and hung merely from life's humbling seams.
Yet those I ripped worsening my condition.
I fell rapidly
into the emptiness.
Fear overtook my body nimbly.
Then a sound filled the air with such gentleness
And your hands murdered my fears,
your sweet voice filled the hole,
your tender lips drank my tears,
and your eyes saved my soul.
That lost soul,
doomed to wander forever.
Nothing at all
could have saved her.
But your eyes traveled deep
into my heart, broke the locks.
Filled me with such joy that I could no longer weep.
They stopped in me all the clocks.
So I stopped caring for time
as I felt on me your gaze.
The vine of this love then began to wind
around my whole body, yet all I saw was your face.
And as your love trapped me
it brought forth the light.
Though it might seem you bound me
in your eyes begins my flight.
