Too Damn Vain

What am I supposed to say?
What do YOU want me to say?
Do you want me to speak the truth,
to say I love you and I want to stay?

No! I cannot say the truth.
I cannot say the truth because
even I do not know what it is.
Maybe I do, but even you know the cause.

Why do you pretend you do not know?
Do you enjoy making me feel dumb?
You must enjoy hurting me.
You must enjoy straining our bond.

There is no other explanation.
You enjoy causing me pain.
I hate you with a passionate love.
And maybe we�re both just too damn vain.
