It felt so real. Your gaze I caught.
I never thought that was my last glimpse of your face.
As I sweetly placed my lips on yours,
where were you? Where was your heart?
Why couldn't I see as you closed all the doors?
I never thought like this you'd part.
My world crumbled so suddenly
that I'm still shaking from the aftermath.
Was it true you thought of me so fondly?
Then why did you leave me on this solitary path?
How tightly I would have held you,
how fast I would have told a lie
to gain some more time with you,
had I known it was our last goodbye!
