When the Strikers play in Perth there are
often a lot of goals scored, but is often a tighter scoreline at the end
of the game. The Strikers were hammered 6-1 on Saturday, to give the
Glory a good start in the newly renovated stadium.
Strikers conceded two goals in the first
half, but came out after the break looking more determined to score.
Perth however caught the Strikers on the break and were punished with a
long range shot by Hassel.
Immediately after the restart, one of the Strikers
was pushed in the penalty area giving Brownlie an easy chance to put one
on the scoreboard.
In the only game Strikers fans can hear
live on the net, the game appeared to be fairly tight up until the 73rd
minute when Andre Caceras came on for Anthony Danze. It was this
substitution that seemed to make the difference as he made quick, incisive
runs against the Strikers "tiring defence".
From here the Strikers seemed to be facing
a losing battle, conceding three goals in the last 15
minutes.
