The DEP's safety and engineering requirements for the rebuilding and restoration of the dam have put the project far beyond the budget available to the Allotment.   As a result, we are now actively working on a "Plan B" and are hoping to meet with local DEP officials very soon about the possibility of deepening the former lake bed via excavation/dredging,  a project that would restore the surface area of the lake to something closer to its former self and would not require the costly construction of a new dam.
