Today I did, but she was there
She was not just my lover, but my friend
It's a time I will remember until my life comes to an end
For all the hardships I've been through
She was there and helped with anything she could do
A strong girl full of heart
She kept me from falling apart
What on earth would I do without her?
I wouldn't be in existence if it wasn't for her
It's one thing to say you care
But everytime I needed her, she was there
Always there to lend an ear and help
Just what you need when you can't save yourself
She took away the knife
And gave me a new meaning of life
I owe her everything in this world
I owe it all to my sweet loving girl
I'd be so worse for the wear
But no worries, all because she was there
I wrote this poem one day when I was really depressed but my girlfriend came to my aid with a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. I am really grateful for it.
