There is no time in your life that is as good
As the stage of childhood
No work and all play
Make a very fun-filled day
Television to watch and bikes to ride
Mommy and daddy always by your side
Imaginary people to fight
And the security of a night-light
The soothing sound of your mother's voice
And which game you want to play is your only choice
Childhood is so grand
You always have time to dream about a far off land
Splashing in puddles
And the enjoyment of mommy's cuddles
Lots of time for pretending
And fairytales are never ending
Always have time to watch Mickey Mouse
And time to make a mess of the house
The treasure of a Kracker Jack's ring
And never ending songs to sing
When you want something it doesnt hurt to try
Letting out a deafening cry
When you are a kid you hold a lot of power
It's as easy as building a Lego tower
You always have a ball
Playing with a Cabbage Patch doll
It's amazing just how far
You can throw your least favourite dinky car
And the best part of all is when a story is read
And you're mom says sweet dreams and tucks you into bed
This poem was written for my English class. We had to write a poem about Childhood so I took a stroll down memory lane and came up with ideas for a poem.
