CHICAGO AREA PRO-LIFERS ARE PLANNING A HUGE DEMONSTRATION Sunday, Oct. 7, at south suburban "Christ" Hospital, where labor/delivery nurse Jill Stanek has been fired after fueling protests over the major medical center's infanticide practice, in which babies targeted for abortion are delivered prematurely in the expectation they will not survive the birth. Some, reports Nurse Stanek, do survive and, by hospital policy, are left to die without post-delivery medical assessment or treatment.
Those wishing to travel to the event from other areas are welcome to participate in the effort to encircle the huge hospital campus and extend for blocks down the south suburbs' main business street. The demonstration is scheduled as the local observance of Life Chain Sunday, the annual event wherein pro-life advocates simultaneously, nationwide, stand along highways and at other public venues in silent witness, holding signs bearing alternative messages: "Abortion Kills Children," "Abortion Hurts Women" and "Jesus Forgives and Heals."
The "Christ" Hospital Life Chain, set for 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., will feature prayer and is expected to draw upwards of 1,500 people, particularly now that the hospital's parent corporation, Advocate Health, has attempted to squelch the courageous whistle-blower who first brought to public attention Advocate's practice of "live-birth abortions."
Information on the Oct. 7 protest is available from the Human Life Resource Center at 1-773/239-6457.
