Following are two letters from the  Daily Southtown.

The first is in response to the March 31st DS article "State Senate OKs rules
for living fetuses in abortions." The second letter (concerning the killing
of an abortionist) was written by Matt Abbott, Illinois Right to Life
committee.

"Our responsibilities"

After reading the Daily Southtown article in today's edition entitled "State
Senate OKs rules for living fetuses in abortions," we were appalled by the
pro-abortion bias found in that article.

A child born alive, whether by natural birth, C-section, or abortion, is a
child, not a fetus. The legislation is called the Illinois Born Alive Infants
Protection legislation. These are facts which should have appeared in your
story. You have an ethical and regulatory responsibility to present both
sides to an issue.

As media representatives, you have an obligation to report the news, not your
biases. Your job is to inform the public about the news, not to change it. We
hope you will strive to do better in the future.

"Against violence"

If recently captured James Kopp did in fact murder abortionist Barnett
Slepian, then Kopp, obviously, should spend the rest of his life behind bars.
That being said, it must be reiterated that true pro-life advocates strongly
condemn violence
— inside and outside the clinics.
