7 tasks of love (poem)
 
 

The Gods smiled
The day we met
I saw your eyes and yet
A message I did receive from heaven above
That I must undertake seven tasks
To win your love

A horse of silver I’ll ride for you
The seven tasks I’ll gladly do
And through endless time I’ll be
The darkest places the earth can find
The toughest tests of all mankind
These I’ll do for my lady Marie

My steed hath wings
My sword is gold
Come near or far my heart it sings
No man on earth could be as bold
For gods nor demons cannot stop me
As I strive to win my lady Marie

The mountain high
The sea it is deep
I travel forth and need no sleep
The love that waits for my return
Doth give me strength beyond belief
The love of my lady Marie

Orcs and goblins
Cannot halt my deed
Gods and goddesses may try to impede
But all I see is my lady fair
My lady Marie – so tender so dear

The seven tasks to be complete
A dragon’s egg for my lady sweet
The Golden Fleece that once was thine
A golden rose for my lady devine
A holy grail so special like thee
Are four of the tasks for my lady Marie!

A magical creature so sad and forlorn
By your side will again be a unicorn
To grant your wishes one by one
A magic flute to sing you a song
And the final task myself is for
To prove my love when home once more
I kneel to thee
My heart set free
I do these things for your love MARIE

Ode to Marie (poem)
 

I will build thee a castle
For all to see
I will build thee a castle
For you and me
 

I will build thee an army
To protect you from harm
I will build thee a moat
Filled not with beasts, but with your charm
 

I will fight the red dragon
It’s head I shall bring
I will find a gold lute
For my love she shall sing
 

I will kiss the red rose
So my love shall see bloom
I will make her my bride
If I can be her  groom
 

I will wed my Marie
Before knights brave and bold
And would love her forever
Until all days grew old

AIRPORT (poem)

No room to stand or sit
In the crowded room nowhere to fit
At last! A chair but only one
And after waiting all that long!

But someone saw our plight
And did what was only right
Moved his luggage to one side
Goodness!!!! A Gentleman I’ll abide

In this new age – what a shock
Someone with no mental block
A gentleman so rare a sight
Who opens doors and so polite

No more could I do
Than to say  “I Thank you”
And sit by his side
This man with morals and pride!

We started to talking to pass the time
Manners is not a crime
Would the Flight be late
How long would we have to wait
 
The information you passed to me
Reeling off times no one else could see
I listened with intent to this man
So knowledgeable where ‘ere he can

As I looked more closely what did I see
A pair of field glasses could this be
Could I believe the things you said
Or were you just trying to muddle my head
 

This started to laugh as we began to chat
And as we spoke we noticed that
We had something in common to bond us that day
A bond which has never gone away

We were both into computers and to this day
We keep in touch the modern way
And before long Email addresses we’d gained
And through cyber space Emails reigned
 

A wonderful friendship began from my plight
That day, as I awaited my flight
Who’d have thought a friendship could start
A friendship that would never part.
