What a Beautiful Moon!
This morning I saw the moon
setting as I was driving to the track where I was going to run. The moon was
gorgeous! It was pale orange, not quite round, and appeared very dramatic just
above the houses, low hills, etc. Quite a beautiful sight!
It really should not be any
surprise to us when we observe creation of our mighty Father and are
emotionally moved by its power and glory—the moon in its various phases, sunsets and sunrises, rainbows, and cool
breezes or even the storminess of hurricanes or tornadoes. In Genesis
Elsewhere in the Bible we see statements which speak of how glorious is
the world in which we live, the work of our God who simply spoke it all into
existence (Genesis 1:3,6,9,11,14,20,22,24, & 26). One such scripture is
Psalm 104. Here is just a partial quotation from this passage:
“He sends the springs into the valleys, They flow among the hills. They give drink to
every beast of the field...By them the birds of the heavens have their home; They sing among the branches. He causes the grass
to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may
bring forth food from the earth, And wine that makes glad the
heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens
man's heart...He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down.
You make darkness, and it is night,...O LORD,
how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made
them all. The earth is full of Your possessions…”
Truly everything that our almighty God has made is good!
