Starfleet History

Personal History:

Commander Garry Rikar was forced to retire at the age of 45 after having suffered severe injuries during a battle at the peak of the Dominion Incursion. Although officially retired from active duty, Commander Garry Rikar still answers the calls of Starfleet Command when asked to act as a consultant or sometimes as a special field liaison officer. Although the Commander's mobility is very restricted due to his injuries, the man is an extremely friendly officer who strongly believes in the Federation and what it represents, still willing, as he was so many years ago, to give his lift to protect the UFP and its citizens. When not working for the Federation, Commander Garry Rikar spends his time with his wife in their small home in the Western Canadian mountains.

Following in his father's footsteps, Brian Rikar joined Starfleet and proved himself to be a dedicated and fearless officer. His courage and actions earning him several promotions and commendations for valour. Although his father was in a position to help Brian's career on several occasions, the now Lieutenant Commander refused any and all aid from his father, wanting to achieve his potential on his own. Now, Brian Rikar is considered, by the Captain, and other members of the crew, a valued member of the USS APOLLO.

Joann Rikar is often considered by both her mother and father as their "other son". Although her looks are very feminine, as First Lieutenant and leader of a Marine detachment, she acts and is considered by all as "more than a man". Thanks to her quick decisions and actions on the field of battle, Joann Rikar has earned many citations for bravery and valour. Sabrina stays in constant communication through letters with her older sister, hoping to one day prove herself worthy of the family name and the weight that it carries in Starfleet.

Due to the extensive Starfleet history of her family, Sabrina felt somewhat pressured into joining. After her first year at the Academy, she discovered that all the hard work could be, in fact, fun. With this discovery, she began working harder, generally impressing her instructors as well as her classmates.

Although her heart is in the right place, Sabrina often finds herself *pushing* regulations, either by her actions, words or dress code. Her general attitude is that you might as well do it now because tomorrow may never come.

Over the years, Sabrina has learned to use *all* of her assets in the quest to successfully reach the goal(s) she has set for herself. But even with that attitude, she will never place the well being of a teammate or friend in jeopardy in order to achieve her objective.

Psychological Notes:

The person of Sabrina Rikar resurfaced unexpectedly one day causing some chaos and confusion around her, but in time the majority of those who had come to know her accepted and supported this change that for her was only a return to the way things should have been.
