The interspatial parasite is an organism that infect the hippocampus and which originate from the Sphere Builders' transdimensional realm. The main symtom of this infection is an inability for the person of forming any new long-term memories.
Because these parasites are from outside normal space-time and exist in a state of interspatial flux, initial treatments were unsuccessful.

(Federation Temporal Prime Directive)
A cure for these parasites was found in 2165 in an alternate time-line by a group of Denobulan Doctors and Physicists. The cure consist of creating a subspace implosion powered by a warp core. Such an implosion would completely erase the parasites or any traces of their presence. Furthermore it was discovered that destroying a parasite in the present destroyed it in the past as well.
In this time-line EARTH was destroyed by the Xindi leaving only a handful of Terrans living on CETI ALPHA V. When the Xindi discovered this last outpost of Humanity, the cure for this disease was implemented terminating this alternate time-lime.
Iresine Syndrome
A very rare neurological disorder in humanoids characterized by a peculiar electropathic signature in the thalamus, and a severely decreased histamine count. Victims of the disorder, first identified in the 23rd century, would fall suddenly into a coma for approximately 72 hours.
Diagnosis could be confused by the presence of any of 22 different substances that left electropathic residue resembling that of this disorder.
Irumodic Syndrome
Irumodic Syndrome is a degenerative neurological disorder which is characterised by deterioration of the synaptic pathways of the brain. This causes confusion, delusions, and eventually death. No cure is available; the best treatment in the late 24th century was peridaxon, though this only relieved the symptoms. Genetic testing can determines whether a person has the possibility of developing the syndrome in later life, but this is not a flawless diagnosis. The initial signs that one might develop Irumodic Syndrome can be so small that they are only visible on a level-4 neurografic scan.
Iverson's Disease
Iverson's Disease is a chronic and progressive muscular disorder that affects humans. It causes fatal degeneration of motor skills, but does not impair mental faculties. There is no known cure. Mark Jameson suffered from the illness, and attempted to alleviate the symptoms by using a alien drug to reverse the aging process. Whilst this appeared successful, Jameson's overuse of the drug eventually killed him.
Kalla-Nohra Syndrome
A chronic pulmonary disease unique to individuals, both Bajoran and Cardassian, who survived a particular mining accident at GALLITEP.

Type of amnesia that occurs when a patient witnesses an act of violence so terrible that the patient rejects the reality of the situation.
Larosian Virus
A viral infection with the unique side effect of removing inhibitions, making an infected individual appear entirely carefree and openly amorous.
Levodian Flu
The Levodian Flu is a disease apparently common in Federation member planets. It usually runs for a maximum of 29 hours, with the only signs being similar to the traditional EARTH flu.
Macrovirus
The macrovirus was first encountered in the Delta Quadrant in 2373.
Upon infection a host developed a fever and soon fell unconscious. As the virus progressed it gathered at the side of the victim's neck and used the host's hormones to promote its own growth. Eventually the viruses reached a macroscopic size (0.5mm) and hatched from the host.
Both the Tak Tak and the Garans were aware of the virus.
Memory virus
The memory virus is a (possibly alien) virus that passes from person to person through physical contact.
To avoid detection, the virus disguises itself as a memory engram -- normally a memory so traumatic that the host suppresses it into the subconscious. In the case of the one memory virus known to Starfleet, the memory was of a girl falling from a cliff. It is not known how many hosts the virus inhabited before it was destroyed, but it may have been in existance for thousands of years.
The virus was eventually discovered and destroyed in 2373 using thoron radiation.
Mendakan Pox
Humanoid disease characterized by skin mottling. Easily treatable, cases of this disease are actually quite rare.
Metremia
Radiation poisoning caused by the metreon cascade.
Metremia, a fatal degenerative blood disease, was caused by exposure to high concentrations of metreon isotopes. The disease attacked its victims on a molecular level, causing the body's atomic structure to undergo fission.
Morphogenic Virus
A virus engineered by Section 31 designed to kill the Founders. In 2372 one Changeling was unknowingly given the virus, but it did not manifest itself until three years later. The main symptom is a decreasing ability to shapeshift, accompanied by pain and peeling skin; the progress is accelerated by frequent shapeshifting and in the final stage of the disease, the Changeling cannot revert back to liquid state at all and die in a solid form. The cure for the disease contains a nucleotide marking sequence consisting of adanine, asporadine, lytastolanine, and radanine.
Multiphasic Prion
The multiphasic prion is a pathogen that infects humans and can be potentially life-threatening. The prions initially attach themselves to the mitochondrial wall, and later migrate to the cell membranes and rupture them. One of the early symptoms of infection is a slight elevation in body temperature.
Nihiliphobia
The fear of nothingness, usually brought on when a patient is placed in a completely empty room or when a starship travels through a region of spacial void. Symptoms of nihiliphobia can include anxiety and even panic attacks leading to collapse.
Orkett's Disease
Orkett's Disease is caused by a virus that affected thousands of Bajoran children during the Cardassian Occupation of BAJOR. The disease was usually terminal unless a suitable bone marrow transplant was performed.
Pa'nar Syndrome
Pa'nar Syndrome is a Vulcan disease that results in the degradation of the synaptic pathways. It also affects the endocrine and immune systems. It is caused by a disruption of neuroelectric impulses during Vulcan mind melds performed by a Vulcan who has been improperly trained. It can be cured by a meld performed by an experienced melder.
The disease and its cure were known in Surak's time, but by the 22nd century the knowledge of the cure had been lost. In that time, melding was considered an "unnatural" practice. As a result, those afflicted with Pa'nar Syndrome were ostracized from Vulcan society.
Phage
The phage is a deadly disease that afflicted the Vidiians for approximately 2,000 years. The phage literally consumed the Vidiians; their genetic code was first disrupted, then their body tissues were consumed. One of the early symptoms of the disease was excruciating joint pain. Some victims had been known to die simply from the agony itself, and euthenasia of afflicted persons was common.
The Vidiians survived in the short term by making extensive use of transplantation and organ piracy, using a variant of transporter technology to literally steal healthy organs from the bodies of their owners. Increasingly desperate, the Vidiians resorted to kidnapping members of other species and experimenting on them.
A Vidiian scientist believed that research into Klingon genetic material would eventually lead to a cure.
The phage was cured in 2376, by the group known as the Think Tank.
Plasma Plague
Plasma plague is a lethal disease caused by a group of viruses known since the 2260s. The pioneering research was conducted on them by Dr. Susan Nuress in 2295 following an epidemic on OBI VI. One mutated strain, developed during Nuress's explorations, was found to grow more rapidly when exposed to eichner radiation.
Plasma plague threatened the heavily populated Rachelis system in 2365.
Pneumonia
Pneumonia is an infection of the alveoli of the lungs. One type of pneumonia is lobar, which in the consolidation of a pulmonary lobe.
Psi 2000 intoxication
A state of polywater intoxication (sometimes referred to as the Psi 2000 intoxication) is an affliction caused by polywater molecules, first noted on Psi 2000. It first affected the members of a Federation science team stationed on that planet in 2266. The transmission of the affliction was water based, caused by huge shifts in gravity, resulting in complex strings of water molecules that had the ability to propogate themselves, almost like a very simple version of a virus. The main symptom of the intoxication is the supression of inhibitions, resulting in an effect that appears much like drunkeness. It appears to spread through perspiration and therefore touch.
Redellian Brain Fever
A high contagious infection which manifests itself through extreme delusions causing people to usually believe that they are someone else.
Rigelian Fever
Rigelian fever is a high contageous disease, originating from the Rigel system, and affecting one out of three (1/3) residents of the Rigel system before puberty. Easily treated, the Rigelian Fever usually lasts for no more than 6 days and consists of a distinctive blue and green gangrenous rash.
In 2154, a sample of this disease's pathogen was stored at Cold Station 12 for study.
rop'ngor
A disease that sometimes affects Klingon children, somewhat akin to terrestrial measles.
Rudellian Plague
Rudellian plague is an infectious disease that afflicts Cardassians. The Cardassian colony on PENTATH III suffered an outbreak of Rudellian plague in 2372, due to a decline in public health caused by the Klingon-Cardassian War.
SDS or Soul Displacement Syndrome
Also known as 'Transfer of Coherent Bio-Energy Between Siblings Following Severe Emotional or Psychological Trauma', the tern SDS was associated to this condition following research on this rare condition was conducted on EARTH by members of Starfleet Medical. The condition is described as the transfer of a
soul, or at least part of one, from one person to another at the time of death. Although this is an exceptionally rare condition, one that many members of the medical community within Starfleet still refuse to recognise as being genuine, some cases had been documented and seemed to gravitate mostly around twins who had suffered some sort of severe emotional trauma. Only one such case has ever been associated with Human twins. The other target group for this unusual syndrome appears to be amongst races which possesse extensive
telepathic abilities as well as specific genetic predisposition for fraternal twins such as Betazoids.
Sakuro's Disease
An extremely rare disease which can cause intense fever, weakness, and even death if not treated within the first 36 hours of the onset of the symptoms.
Shalaft's Syndrome
Shalaft's Syndrome is a rare, congenital birth defect sometimes found in Human males. The disorder usually manifested itself in early childhood; the primary symptom was an acute hypersensitivity to sound even the slightest whisper could cause one who had this syndrome severe pain.
Stockholm Syndrome
In psychology, the tendency for hostages to sympathize with their captors after extended captivity. In extreme cases this can lead to the individual to completely believe and even join the cause of their captors.
Symbalene Blood Burn
Symbalene blood burn is a deadly disease that can kill a human in a few minutes, and it takes more then a week to wipe out a population of a planet totaling 4 billion people. The pathogen causes the the vascular lining to literally boil away. Initial symptoms include a critical rise in body temperature and blood pressure, followed by extreme pain in the extremities and the rupture of capillaries.
Synthococcus Novae
Synthococcus novae is the nomenclature for a lethal bacillus strain that evolved in the environmentally-regulated societies of the mid-23rd century Federation. As of that era, Federation medicine had no cure for the disease but could immunize against it. Infected persons, who could be carriers of the disease without suffering its effects, were required to stay in enrivonmentally-controlled areas to prevent its spread.
Telurian Plague
Telurian plague is one of the most dangerous pathogens known in the 22nd century. Stocks of Telurian plague were stored aboard Cold Station 12 for study.
Currently, there is still no cure for the Telurian plague.
Temporal Narcosis
Delirium produced by exposure to temporal disturbances. Although no extensive work has been done in the research of this particular condition, those Doctors who have had first hand experiences with this have reported a corrolation between the amplitude of the temporal disturbance and the intensity and number of cases.
Teplan Blight
A disease introduced to the Teplans by the Jem'Hadar because of the resistance. The main characteristic is a series of 'spider-veins' over the skin which turn red during the quickening or death stage. The Blight was 'cured' by a Federation Doctor on his visit to the Teplan homeworld. He didn't actually develop a cure per se, he developed an innoculation to prevent unborn children from contracting it.
Terothka Virus
The Terothka Virus is a highly contagious disease unique to Romulan physiology. While various strains exist, the symptoms are similar - the most unpleasant of which are considered to be stomach cramps and a debilitating rash.
Terellian Death Syndrome
Terellian Death Syndrome is a deadly disease which causes irreversible cellular degradation. Its initial symptoms are somewhat similar to that of Urodelian flu.
Terrellian Plague
The Terrellian plague is a devastating viral infection; because of the renowned excruciating discomfort its victims suffer, it is often used in hyperbole or as an exaggerating comparative: "It's heartburn, not the Terrellian plague."
Thelusian Flu
An exotic but harmless rhinovirus that is easily treated.
Transporter Psychosis
Transporter psychosis is an incurable medical condition first diagnosed by researchers on DELINIA II in 2209. It is caused by a breakdown of neurochemicals during transport, affecting the body's motor functions, autonomic systems and the higher reasoning centers of the brain. As a result, the victim suffers from paranoid delusions, multi-infarct dementia, hallucinations (somatic, tactile, and visual), and psychogenic hysteria. Peripheral symptoms include sleeplessness, accelerated heart rate, diminished eyesight leading to acute myopia, and dehydration. Transporter psychosis was eliminated by the invention of the multiplex pattern buffer in the 2310s.
Tuvan Syndrome
Tuvan Syndrome is a neurological disease affecting mostly Romulans, Vulcans and Rigelians which typically is degenerative and incurable.
In the normal profile for degeneration, the patient will begin experiencing a loss of motor skills in ten to fifteen years, with life expectancy somewhere in the twenty to twenty-five year range upon contracting it.
In 2375, Section 31 was under the impression that the head of the Romulan Tal'Shiar, had contracted Tuvan Syndrome. Or so they led a Doctor to believe, as they convinced him that he was needed to make a positive diagnosis as part of a ruse to expel Senator Kimara Cretak from her chair in the Romulan Senate.
Ulcartic Virus
Ulcartic virus is a very deadly and very painful disease, sometimes used as a brutal method of execution by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. The virus causes the subject's internal organs to heat up, to the point where the victim's body literally boils to death.
Urodelian Flu
Urodelian flu is a relatively harmless viral disease. Symptoms include blurred vision, dizziness, palpitations, and a stinging sensation in the lower spine. Urodelian flu is characterized by a slightly irregular K-3 cell count, elevated intravascular pressure, and heightened electrophoretic activity.
Most humans are naturally immune to Urodelian flu.
Vegan Choriomeningitis
Vegan choreomeningitis is a disease with which volunteers from Gideon were deliberately infected. The people of Gideon were virtually immortal, and respected life too much to consider birth control. Their goal was to introduce death back into their critically overpopulated and germ-free society.
Xenopolycythemia
Xenopolycythemia is a rare blood disease, causing a loss of red blood cell replacement in the human body. The disease is always fatal within a year if not treated early. The cure, discovered by the Fabrini in the 23rd century, is extremely uncomfortable, and the drug must be administered in small doses at specific intervals during the treatment period. When given in time, recovery is 100%.
In 2154, a sample of this disease's pathogen was stored at Cold Station 12.
Zanthi Fever
A virus affecting the empathic abilities of "mature" Betazoids. It causes brief, intense headaches, during which the sufferer unconsciously projects his or her emotions onto others nearby, provided those emotions already exist in those others subconsciously. Fortunately, the sufferer is easily cured with a simple wide-spectrum antibiotic, and the effects on other people wear off in a day or two.
