Eek is the control rat of this experiment. She is a smaller animal, and is the most gentle of all of three lab rats. She is outgoing and friendly, and is the only one at this point who is not frightened of us.
02/22/01- Day Four
* Eek's mass for today was 163.5 grams.
* She had 6.9 grams of food left and ate 22.3 grams.
* She drank approximately 2.5 centimeters of water.
* She was given 28.5 grams of food and 8 oz of water.
* Eek is still sneezing occasionally.
*NOTE: All bedding was changed today.
02/21/01- Day Three
* Eek's mass for today was 157 grams
* She had 11.7 grams of food remaining and ate 18.1 grams.
* She drank approximately 3 centimeters of water.
* She was given 29.2 grams of food and 8 oz of water.
02/20/01- Day Two
* Eek's mass for today was 145 grams.
* She had 14.3 grams of food remaining (with shells and spills) and ate 15.7 grams.
* She drank approximately 1 centimeter (1.2 oz) of water.
*She was given 29.8 grams of food and 8 oz (255 ml) of water.
* Eek is still sneezing occasionally.
*NOTE: The food type was changed from the seed mixture to a rat pellet diet. Also, the bedding was changed from newspaper to shavings.
02/19/01- Day One
* Eek's mass for today was 153.5 grams.
* She was given 30 grams of the seed mixture and 8 oz of water.
* We have observed her sneezing occasionally.
