This souvenir sheet of ten faux
postage stamps features Kit Carson, one of America's greatest
patriots. The sheet includes a vintage photograph (1918) of
Carson's home in Taos, New Mexico, as well as historical
information about Carson and his role in exploring and taming
America's western frontier. The image on each stamp
(artistamp) is a reproduction of what is believed to be the
last portrait made of Kit, painted in oil the year prior to
his death in 1868.
This stamp sheet was designed,
printed, and perforated by the
Olathe Poste (Olathe,
Colorado).
The actual size of this sheet is 140.5mm x
215 mm (5.53" x 8.46").
