Mangus ColoradoArtistamp
The Apache Chief Mangas Coloradas ("Mangus Colorado") is featured on this attractive faux postage stamp. Mangas became Chief of the Mimbres Apaches in 1863 following the death of his father (also named Mangas) at the hands of Army troops at Pinos Altos, New Mexico. The stamp was designed by W.C. "Bill" Porter and manufactured by The Olathe Poste.

The above image is an enlargement (150%); the actual size of this artistamp is 28mm x 25mm (approximately the size of a U.S. definitive stamp).
