This item is a block of four faux
postage stamps (artistamps) featuring Geronimo. The Apache
Chief Geronimo (Goyathlay; "One who Yawns") terrorized New
Mexico and Arizona for over 25 years, defending his people
against the encroachment of Mexican and American soldiers,
settlers and miners on their tribal lands. This artistamp was
designed by
W.C. "Bill" Porter and manufactured by the Olathe
Poste (Olathe, Colorado).
The actual size of this block
of four artistamps is 77mm x 73.5mm (3.0" x 2.9"). Possibly
attached sheet selvage (as seen in the image above) is not
included in this measurement.
