Soles in Limbo

It's no coincidence that in cities around the globe pairs of shoes are seen dangling from power lines. But what does it mean? In order to unravel this mystery we put our intrepid team of researchers to work. First, we were able to debunk the urban myth that these shoes are caught on power lines as they rain down like manna from heaven. Next, Steve painted twenty little canvases representing nineteen pairs of soles ascending. Art meets Metaphysics meets Cosmic Consumer Consciousness. The answer (my friend) is hanging in the wind.

What does it mean?
