- Jas Cyberspace Museum was conceived some time ago and research into its construction was begun in January of 1995, shortly after the good people at Faximum offered to host my HomePage on the World Wide Web.
- It was decided to construct JCM as my HomePage. Its primary purposes would be to house, conserve and exhibit my computer art works, some scanned images of my other art works and a selection of works by other artists that are in my collection. As with any museum, full-filling these purposes is time consuming. The works have to be prepared for exhibition; in some cases they need to be restored or even reconstructed to permit viewing on the World Wide Web.
- My work in Cyberspace began in 1983 when I used an Osborne CP/M computer and daisy-wheel printer to produce works using the spread sheet program SuperCalc. It continued when I upgraded to a DOS based system. I created my first Cyberstamp on my wife's MacClassic.
- A lot of this work (if not all) will be transferred to the Museum, as most of it was created to be seen on a monitor or light screen. Some of the works are studies for drawings, prints, transparencies and/or paintings and may be commissioned from the artist.
