2003 SS Conceptz Series Rules

Rules for 2003 Winston Cup Series have changed as of Nov. 10, 2003. The following sections were affected:

section I paragraph B - custom cars
section II paragraph C - the absence clause
section IV paragraph C - wreck less driving
section V paragraph D - restarts

Changes have been annotated initalics

I. Cars Allowed

A. The primary carset used for SSconceptz will be the 2003 carset that Copyman has provided on his website and available in the 2003 Carset section of HeatRacin. This includes the updated files available on SSconceptz containing Copyman's updated cars. Any car number not included in these or in the 2003 Carset will be considered a custom car, and necessary measures must be taken.

B. Custom cars:

Custom painted cars will be allowed for ALL races for the 2003 SSconceptz Winston Cup Series.

Fictional cars and numbers are allowed, as long as the Stock.car or HCmotorsports' chevy.car, dodge.car, ford.car, and pontiac.car files are still being used as the chassis for the fictional car.

You may change your custom paint car as often as you wish. (One for every week's race if you want!) However, you must have your custom car file submitted to the SSconceptz administration staff a MINIMUM of 24 hours prior to desired race. If the car file is received after that point, car changes will not take effect until the next week's race, and you MUST drive your previous car.

To submit your custom car file, send an email to [email protected] or go to the Custom Cars section of SSconceptz and follow directions contained on that page.

A note for custom cars: although you may change your car file as often as you like, you car MUST ALWAYS be the number that you originally registered with SSconceptz. This is to avoid having two cars with the same number in a race.

II. Points

A. Points for the 2003 SSconceptz Winston Cup Series will be very similar to the real NASCAR Winston Cup points system.
1st place receives 175 points. 2nd through 6th place decreases in increments of 5 points each. 7th through 11th place decreases in increments of 4 points each. 12th and up will decrease in increments of 3 points each.

Example:

175
170
165
160
155
150
146
142
138
134
130
127
124
121
118

B. Bonus points will be awarded for these additional accomplishments:

5 points for leading a lap in any points race
5 points for leading most laps in any points race
5 points for pole at any points race (SSconceptz addition to points system

C. The absence clause: if you notify the SSconceptz administration staff a MINIMUM of 24 hours prior to any scheduled race of an anticipated absence, you will receive last place points for that race. If there are multiple "scheduled" absences for a single race, the driver that notifies the SSconceptz administration staff first will receive the higher place for that race. In short, timeliness gets you points. Only 2 consecutive scheduled absences are allowed. A third consecutive absence will result in no points awarded for that race. The following week starts a new cycle, and you may receive last place points for a scheduled absence.

Example: 12 drivers show for a scheduled race. Driver A notifies the staff of an absence 72 hours prior, and driver B notifies the staff of an absence 48 hours prior. Driver A will be awarded 13th place points, and driver B will be awarded 14th place points.

D. Penalties will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, however penalties will start at a MINIMUM of a 5 point deduction.

III. Pitting

For now, pitting rules will be identified at each individual track, prior to the start of a scheduled race. Should the need arise, this rule will be revised.

IV. Wreck Less Driving

A. Wreck less driving is considered any INTENTIONAL behavior on the racetrack that causes a driver to hit another driver, be hit by another driver, hit the wall, lose control, spin, brake unexpectedly, or leave the racing surface in any manner. The intention of the accused party is at the sole discretion of the SSconceptz administration staff.

B. Wreck less driving will result in an automatic 10 point deduction, with additional point deductions possible, depending on the case.

C. If you wish to have someone penalized for what you feel is wreck less driving, or anything else that warrants a penalty, email the administration with details concerning the incident in question to include who was involved, what happened, what lap it happened on, and why you feel it happened. The administration will then review your argument, and assess penalties as necessary.

V. Race Day

A. Settings for ALL league races (including road courses) will be as follows:

Realism set to hardcore

Race length set to 50%

Wear factor set to 2x

Pitting set to manual pits

B. Races will be held at 10:00am CST on Saturday mornings, except in the unlikely event that this conflicts with a real NASCAR Winston Cup event. The server will open up at 9:00am on Saturday mornings for connection tests, happy hour, etc. with qualifying starting at 10:00am sharp. If you are running late, and have NOTIFIED some one in the race, the race will not start for a MAXIMUM of an additional 10 minutes after everyone has qualified, and you will take a provisional. After that... no start, no scheduled absence, no points.

C. Provisionals - If you are instructed to take a provisional, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO QUALIFY. Simply wait until everyone else has finished qualifying, and you will automatically start in the back.

D. Restarts - The only restarts will be for a messed up field prior to the start of a race. In this case, there will be a maximum of 3 restarts. If after 3 attempted restarts the field is still bad, the race will end, and qualifying will be re-accomplished. Bonus points for the pole will go to the pole sitter of the first qualifying attempt. There will be no restarts once the race has started, for ANY reason. If you get wrecked on the first lap, sorry...pit, fix your car, and get back out there...it's a long race, a lot of things can happen.

VI. Controllers

Due to the dedication of many drivers and the difficulty of hardcore racing, a wheel is a requirement for this league. If you don't have a wheel, you don't race, period. Obviously we can't come to your house to see your controller type, but it will be obvious on the racetrack if you are using a gamepad, joystick, etc. No specific type of wheel is required or banned, any wheel is sufficient.

These rules are subject to change at any time, and must be adhered to at all times by all members of HeatRacin. Repeated infractions of or blatant disregard of these rules will result in removal from the SSconceptz League.

Read the rules and still wanna join? Well then register with us, and join the fun!
