...Sadly we can not save every ferret that comes to our shelter as was the case with Royce. He was 6+ years old and came to this shelter last year in October, almost starved due to food with inadequate "nutrition" and "protein" content which he and his companion ate. Royce was a sickly Ferret and our veterinarien tried his best to save his life but he passed away on June 15, 2004.

Royce loved to be carried around and talked to, he had a laid-back attitude and the last 6 month of his life was spend trying to stay alive. He was also a fighter and did not miss a chance to play a bit with his other friends here at the shelter, even as he became weaker. Royce hated to be without the company of other Ferrets, but toward the end he physically could not be with them, so we arranged it that Royce could sleep by his friends and see them. Although he spend less than a year here at the shelter, he taught us many things! Royce we miss you very much!
