Vaidheekam - A Brief Explanation

Vaideeka dharmam is the most scientific religion in this world as; it deals with very dynamic philosophical tenets. Sruti - The four Vedas are the thesis of the research conducted by the Rishis, who had the following as their main objects of research:

The relationship between the Param (Bhrahmam) and the Aham (One's self) is the main object of the research of the rishiswaras. The only difference between the scientists and the rishiswaras is that, the former (scientists) do research on commercial things, for the material welfare of the world (with or without selfish motive & for financial benefits) where as the Rishiswaras research on the nature of the Self & Divinity for the welfare of the whole human society without any selfish motives. That's what Rishiswaras are being praised & worshipped even today.

The word used for one's eager for getting salvation or moksham is called mumukshatvam. Who ever, has mumuskhatvam is being directed to the appropriate Guru or spiritual teacher, who shows the actual path (& in turn the true nature of the Bhrahmam).

In this Kali Yuga, attaining moksham is very easy as great acharyas or teachers have come to explain the true nature of Bhrahmam or the Divinity & made the Vedantic expereince or Bhrahma Anubhthi very easy.

Sri Shankara Bagavadpada - The Sun of Wisdom

In the country, where the Vedas have flourished the nastheeka religions like Shakyam & Jainam had flourished & the Vedic religion was almost wiped off by the psuedo-vedanthic religion(s). In addition to that, there were about 72 religions were claiming them selves to be the offshoots of the Vedic religion. Sri Shankara Bagavadpada came to this Universe like the rising Sun, which would remove all the darkness of ignorance & re-install the Vedic religion to where it belongs to. Buddhism & jainism is called Nastheeka religions or atheistic religions for they deny the existence of Bhrahmam & claim one's own self as the ultimate divinity. The basic flaw in those religions is that, it leads to the preservation of the Self (forever) instead of it's mergal with the ultimate Bhrahman. Thus those Nastheeka religions died a natural death in the Vedic country.

In the case of Shakyam & Jainam, Acarya used the Gnana & Bakthy margams to debate & win them & replace them with the Vedic religion. Apart from them, there were more than, 72 religions in Sri bagavadpada's days. Acharya selected 6 of them, to the actual offshoots of the Vedic religion & installed the Vaideeka margam. So, acharya is celebrated as the ShanMatha Sthapaka Acharya. The six major religions as, we all know are:

Acharya had traveled along the breadths and widths of the Vedic country (54 countries) & carefully analyzed the religions prevalent in those regions & had classified them, based on the Sruti Vakyam.

In addition to that Sri Bagavadpada identified two differnet nature(s) of the Bhrahman to explain the Bhrahma Sutras and Sruti appropriately: The form-less, attribute-less (Nirguna) Bhrahman has manifested itself into the the forms with attributes to make the Sadhana easy and also carry out the functions like creation, protection, destruction.. Doing Saguna Upanasana would take us to the lokam of the corresponding Diety & that Diety would merge us with the (Nirguna) Bhrahman at the end of the kalpas. But for the Sadhalas who have merged with the (Nirguna) Bhrahman during their lifetimes, moksham is marked by the time, they attain Self-Realization in the form of Self-Consciousness & their one-ness with the Bhrahman. Some of the scholars claim this to be a Buddhistic thought, but Bhrahma Sutras and Sruti clearly state this in various places. Our acharya identified this complex tathva & presented it to us like a gooseberry on on the palm!!!

Advaitham - An Explanantion

On reading the above statement(s), a doubt might arise in our mind(s), regarding the reason for why only those six religions have got qualified to be the offshoots of the Vaideeka matham. There's where the actual scientific & logical phase of the Vedic religion (Advaithic Vedantha) or the non-dualistic philosophy comes into picture. Lets look into the Vedic statements, which are the crux of the Vedas:

After, over-coming the five senses & the virtual mind, the remaining this one's own self or the consciousness of the Self. This is called as Atma Bodhamrutham or the nectar of Self-Conciousness. Since, one's own self is the manifestation of Bhrahmam, the experience of Self-Consciousness is the experience of the actual Bhrahman. One who has attained Bharhma Gnanam sees all the things in this Universe as the manifestation one's own Self Consciousness as the nectar of Self-Consciousness if nothing but Bhrahmam itself. This could be written in the form of a simple equation

Thus the mumukshus, who have attained the wisdom of Self-Consciousness have nothing but the Bhrahma Gnanam as the prevalent one in them.(they have killed their "small" non-vedic minds & have won the 5 senses).

Thus a Gnani identifies Almighty as a personification of his own Self-Consciouness for Self is nothing but the manifestation of the Ultimate Bhrahmam.

Note: This has nothing to do with the "Ahamkaram" of considering one's won ego to be equivalent to Almighty. The Vedic Aham is an entity which could be arrived as an LCM (least common multiple), after we remove all the entities or thoughts, which are based on one's ego or selfishness. This LCM always leads to same entity - Aham!!Such a self is the Aham and all the philosophies are based on this Self.

Now, when we see Acharya's idea of the six religions & the Aham, the deities belonging to these six religions are the manifestations of one's own self. Acharya justified this by basing his statement on Sruti as different parts of the Vedas, claim only these six deities as the manifestation of the Self. This is again based on the divine experiences of the Vedic Rishis.

This the second equation is being used well in this Vedic religion, where Vaishnavites see Lord Vishnu as the manifestation of one's own Bodhamrutham. Same is the case with Shaivites , Shakthas, & other religion people.

Three Philosphies - A Practical Explanation

Now let's take a practical example of how different philosophies treat Almighty. Let's assume that an Advaithin, Visitadvaithin and a Dvaithin visits the temple of Thiru Venkatamudayan . Let's see how they answer the question:

Who's Lord Venkatachalapthy??

Advaitham - A Scientific Explanation

Based on the explanations of the Vedanthis following the 3 different smapradayas we clearly understand that except the Advaithic Vedantha other two branches have not taken the appropriate LCMs as their knowledge of the Ultimate Brahman are multiples of the vasanas like (the three differences) or the five differences. Unless and otherwise these vasanas of Avidya or ignorance are cleared they dont attain the ultimate wisdom and hence the moksham.Until their Avidya(s) are cleared they reside in the territories of the corresponding dieties (Sri Vaikuntam,Kailasham,heaven..) and at the end of the kalpas when there is a big flood their corresponding Lord merges all of them into the (Nirguna) Bhrahman.

Advaithins being on the highest place of wisdom having nothing left but the Atma Bodhamrutham in them and encourage other Vedanthis as they are in the phase of growth. Being mumukshus Advaithins encourage the Visitadvaithins and the Dvaithins as it's their duty to encourage all forms of wisdom and mumukshatvam.

Visitadvaithins View of Advaitham

Some of the astheekas belonging to Visitadvaitham have even gone to the extent of compiling all the faults or discrepancies in the Advaitham. But Advaithins generously encourage even those astheekas. For example if a person, who has learned only upto 10th standard is given an Engineering Mathamatics book he would interpret all the lessons in that book in terms of what he knows. Still a Maths professor encourages him as he would one day grow to the extent of a qualified degree holder and understand the fundamentals of that book. Now we might ask the question why there were lots of conversions from Avditham to Visitadvaitham or Dvaitham, while Advaitham is the highest plane of knowledge, where nothing but the Bhrahman is the ultimate reality. The explanation for that question is that, when the person who has studied 10th standard is very clear about what he knows & has studied thoroughly what has studied and when there's a degree holder (Advaithin), who is not clear of what he has studied & has not implemented (Bhrahmanubhuthi) what he has studied in practical, then he loses before a scholar who is only 10th standard but is very clear of what he knows and could relate his knowledge to the real world. This has nothing to do with the flaw or faults of the Engineering syllabus (Advaitham) or the superiority of the 10th syllabus (Visitadvaitham/Dvaitham).

Now that we have seen the facts about the Vedantas and Vedanthis, one would surprise about why there are three different philosophies while there's only one truth, which is the Ultimate Reality. The answer is that the Ultimate Bhrahman would like to "entertain" all kinds of mumukshus for all kinds of people need to attain salvation finally. The inter-mediate layers between the Ultimate Bhrahmanubuthi would be introduced if one hasnt attained ultimate wisdom.

So now the next question that might arise in our minds is that, when all the (six) Dieties are the manifestations of Self how can their devotees preach something which is against the ultimate truth of Atma Bodamrutham??

Nammazhvar's Bhrahmanubhuthi

The answer is that, great devotees like Nammazhvar have immersed themselves into Bagavad Bakthy & seen none other than Lord Krishna in everything. Azhwar says,

Unnum Sorum Thinnum Vetrilayum Paruhum Neerum anaithum Kannane

If the interpret that above statement in the right way, Azhwar expresses his Bhrahmanubuthy by saying that the rice he eats, the pawn he chews & the water he drinks is all Lord Kirshna. So, everything is Lord Krishna. Azwar states the concept of

Bhrameiva Stahyam Jagad Mithya

Once we realize the Ultimate truth, the whole world becomes virtual as, for a Bhrahma Gnani, who is experiencing the Bhrahmam, time, space, materials.. are all un-real & they all exist only if the mind exists. Since a Bhrahma Gnani has "killed" his mind, only his Atma Bodham prevails in him, thus he merges himself with the Bhrahman & only the Bhrahmanandam is the truth for "him". Nammazhavar expresses only this state of bliss & has expressed his Bhrahmanubhavam as the 1000 ThiruVaiMozhi. Same is the case with Manickka vachagar, ArunagiriNathar, Peyazhwar , Auvayar, Theertha Narayana Swamigal.

Thus one's own Avidya or ignorance gives rise to the Jeeva Bhedam & hence leads to the inter-mediate levels of moksham (like Vaikuntam,Kailasham...)Ultimate moksham is achieved only after all the vasanas & agnanas are removed and the Supreme nature of one's own self is realized.

Ignorance of Dvaithins

Similarly the Dvaithins call Advaithins as MayaVadis and themselves as ThathvaVadhis - meaning, Advaithins are debators of illusion or magical debators, where as Dvaithins are debators of Philosophy. Actually illusion has sorrounded the minds of those agananis that, they dont recogonise the Ultimate Reality as the only one & call the BhrahmanuBhutimans as MayaVadhis. For sure the Sadna they do by doing service to Lord Krishna would enlighten them with the Ultimate Relaity.

Conclusion

Whether it be Karma/Gnana/Bakthy only an Athma Gnani can do it perfectly, for only he can recognize the thahtvam(s) behind those & act appropriately. So the concept of devotion even after achieving the wisdom is adopted to avoid the "Ahamkaram" or ego to be suppressed & the Bodamrutham to be prevalent as Maya & Avidya might take their turns anytime. The same is stated by Nammazhavar. The greatness of the Adviatham is that, we can equate all the spiritual statements to one common knowledge base - which is Sruti. To our surprise even the of statements from Bible & the Holy Qurhan are similar to the philosophical tenets of the Advaitham, as Advaitham is applicable to any religion that talks of the Bhrahman (Almighty) and as all the realized souls talk of the same ALmighty or Bhrahman.

With the graces of Guru & the Kataksham of the Almighty adiyen had compiled this document for the welfare of the astheekas belonging to all the religions & philosophies.

Note All the above categorizations are only for people, who have attained the Vedanthic Aham by clearing off all the vasanas (Aham = LCM of all the selfhishness...). In this case, the LCM always ends up in the same enitity, which is the Pure Aham - which is source of all the bliss & which is filled with the nectar of Self-Consciousness. The nature of the Aham is again, dependent on one's own Anubhtuhti & based on which, one sees the Bhrahman. In this Kali, most of them are actually agnanis(ignorant) for they consider the actual body as their Aham (Anna Mayam Athma). So, this Vyakyanam is only for the souls, who have entered into the Enquiry of Bhrahman after duly attainning the Aham (after the clearnce of the vasansa, manasu & the 5 senses). The very first line of Bhrahma Sutra states,

Adatho Bhrahma Ginansa

Meaning:Thus, let's start the enquiry of the Bhrahman.

So, only a realized soul would start Bhramanveshanam (enquiry of the Bhrahman) and experience the Bhrahmanubhoothy.
