The Seraphim

Sweet song, like a fountain clear-springing,

Arise from my slumbering frame;

O Love, like the Seraphim winging,

Sad heart that weeps over His Name.

I love You, most wondrous Redeemer,

You who must die and amaze-

The wounds that did bleed for my ransom,

I stand in Your Presence and gaze.

My Jesus, about me You follow-

Your Arms in the form of a cross;

I walk in Your trembling shadow-

I fall, and I count not the loss.

Rise, then, on wings everlasting,

And bid me surrender these tears,

To the Heart of the Father awaiting,

And the Home that will hallow the years.
