The Lamb of God

The Lamb of God His likeness is,

Clothed in woollen, curly fleece;

And innocence, and eyes that smile-

The joy of all the fold.

With footsteps meek and tenderly

He walks in sweet humility,

His tiny horns are ivory,

His feet are purest gold.

It is the Son of God I love,

Who came so near us from above;

Who put aside His Kingly crown,

And to this troubled world came down.

He does not rule us from afar-

Both Heaven and Earth His kingdoms are;

He shows us how to find His Love-

A lamb on earth, a Lord Above.

If you would live, become a lamb,

And let ambition die.

Who does not live in lowliness

The vision passes by.

Humility alone can lead

To the Kingdom of God s Son-

We shall behold in Jesus Christ

The Lamb upon His Throne.
