Peace on Earth
Now let the wrath of nations cease-
Let us all join hands in love;
O little ringdove, gentle Peace,
Fly down from Heaven above!
Come down upon us as the dew,
Fall on us as the rain;
Let us never kill each other
Or have a war again!
See the wounds of our dear Saviour
Pleading the strife to end!
Let His Resurrected glory
All humankind befriend.
May we sing instead of fighting-
May there be no earthly need
To reinforce our differences
But the hungry strive to feed.
And everyone can do this work
Can care for poor and meek-
Can hold the hand of brotherhood
To the lonely and the weak.
Convert us, Father, to Your love;
May our spirits further range;
If only we desired it,
The whole world we could change!
