I Choose You
O Jesus, shed Your light on me,
Speak now Your precious Word;
I choose You as my Saviour,
I choose You as my Lord.
I do not tell You what I will,
But go where I am led;
I do not ask for this or that'
But take and eat Your bread.
Dear Jesus, lead me on the Way,
And surely I will follow;
And I will do the things You say,
And reck not pain or sorrow.
I will not have another die
For me to prosper more;
You did not take grim death away,
But made it Heaven's door.
Show me the road Your feet have gone-
I fear no ill beside You;
And I shall find, in following on,
No joy has been denied You.
As You did never count the loss-
My heart such love enfolds,
I lay before Your holy cross
My life and all it holds.
