Be My Guest

O Jesus, from your cross come down,

And lay aside your thorny crown;

Come, sit by me and taste my wine,

And break my bread with hands Divine.

For I would serve You as my Guest-

Refresh Your feet with ointment dressed;

And I would kiss and bind Your scars,

And twine Your hair with perfumed flowers.

I wish that You would stay awhile,

Within my house the time beguile;

And there I d sing my songs to You,

And You would find my heart is true.

Although I cannot understand

Your Passion in its depth profound,

I still can such deep sorrow rue-

I still can sit and watch with You!
