Dear Honorable Members of the County Council:
As a long time resident of Accokeek and P.G. County (29 years) I have been disturbed by the constant and unnecessary development in the Accokeek area. The proposal to reunify Accokeek in the rural tier is a good one and deserves your support.
The part of Accokeek that is in the developing tier will look and feel exactly like every other local community within 5-10 years. If the people who live in Accokeek wanted to live in that kind of community Ft. Washington, Waldorf and about 100 other similar communities are readily available. Once Accokeek is gone there wont be another community like it near the city or in P.G. County.
The only people that want development are the developers. There is neither a need nor a demand for development outside those who stand to directly profit from it.
